A little bit of background...

Along the way, in June 2010, the Nikkel's also founded Qipu, Quidco's german brother, with plans to grow even more.

We are Maple Syrup Media

We offer cashback to customers who shop through Quidco, in three easy steps.

  1. Customers find cashback deals for a variety of different merchants on our site

  2. Customers then click through to the retailer page, and shop as normal.

  3. Once the customer has made a purchase, we receive a commission from the affiliate network and pass on that commission to the customer in the form of cashback. Simple!

The codebase

The Maple Syrup codebase is split into front end (remote services) and back end development.

The Technologies we use for website development:

  • The backend codebase operates within the MVC design pattern and is is split into two parts, the legacy code and the Q platform
  • The Legacy Codebase
    • he legacy codebase is written in PHP and utilises the Zend framework.
    • The twig template engine to render the view.

  • The Q Platform
    • The Q platform written in PHP and utilises the Lumen/Laravel framework.
    • The backend is purely API based and inputs/outputs are passed to the AngularJS front end logic, which deals with content that’s served up from the backend code via API calls .

The Maple Syrup mobile development currently deploys to iOS and Android platforms.

The Technologies we use for mobile development:

We also have dedicated iOS and Android apps which also function via API calls managed from the backend.
